Getting Special Treatment from Boss
How to get special treatment from Boss:
What happens when you see someone at work getting special treatment over and above the rest of you?
When the boss seems to make a big deal of everything good this colleague does and systematically ignores any faults?
If this is happening in your workplace, it is important to deal with it early on before others become demoralized and disinterested.
A boss can literally, make or break your career. Here are five ways to spot the bad ones before they become yours. A great boss can make you feel engaged and empowered at work, will keep you out of unnecessary office politics, and can identify and grow your strengths. But a bad boss can make the most impressive job on paper (and salary) quickly unbearable.
While most of us try to be careful with what we say around our boss, most of us will say something we regret at some point or another. We may know to think twice and speak once, but are you guilty of saying some of these things that you probably shouldn’t?
From the employee’s point of view having your boss be your friend has an upside and a downside. (more…)

Anger Management at Office
If you feel angry often or even all the time, get some help tips here. This will gradually help you to calm your anger without expensive therapy or workshops.
We’ve all had those moments at work. A difficult client turns a productive meeting sour. Your boss berates you over something you can’t control. Or everything on a project just goes wrong within one miserable half-hour period. You feel your blood pressure rising and your breath quickening. You want to pound your fists on your desk, punch your computer monitor, and hurl your phone out your boss’ window.
It is important for women to effectively deal with their anger. People without effective coping mechanisms for anger often suffer from headaches, difficulty sleeping, problems with their digestion and high blood pressure. There is even evidence that having unresolved anger can increase the risk of a heart attack.
Women often have a great deal of everyday stress that they have to deal with, and making an effective transition between work, home, child rearing and being a wife is very difficult. Fortunately, there are anger management techniques that are effective and easy.

Deal With Your Moody Boss
What to when your Boss is moody:
Ever feel like your boss is capable of transforming into more personalities than Jim Carrey?
Most employees welcome variety and challenge in their work — but not when it comes to dealing with the boss.
Unfortunately, in most jobs, success lies not in just managing your own work, but also by what career counselor Anita Dorsey calls “managing up.”
Dealing with a moody boss can be one of the most challenging aspects of work. The moodiness might not be work-related so an employee must keep that in mind that he is most likely not the reason his boss is miserable and remember that his boss has problems like any other person.
If an employee takes every comment or complaint from the boss personally, most likely he will not hold that position for very long.
Dealing with a moody boss is a lot about changing how you react to this person but it’s also about setting boundaries with your boss in an assertive way that your boss is forced to acknowledge because you won’t budge (politely, of course). (more…)

Challenges For Working Mothers
Challenges For Working:
Balance your home and career life.
Women have made great strides in the working world over the past few decades, but they still often face challenges that men don’t. And many of those challenges are self-imposed. Driven by ambition or guilt, many women try to do it all both at work and at home. But at some point, you’ll likely have to give something up. The key is to prioritize and delegate. And just because you have family commitments doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get a raise or promotion at work. A few suggestions can help you get the salary you deserve and have a happy home life, too.
- Follow your boss’ example when it comes to work ethics and company loyalty. The best way to deliver is to know what your boss is looking for.
- Spend time socializing with your co-workers at all levels, not just your peers. Mingle with supervisors, especially those doling out the cash.

- Be aggressive, and get involved with as much as you can handle at work. The more you get into, the more the company will realize your worth and not want to let you go. (more…)
Working Moms are Masters of Multitasking
The days when most moms stayed home to take care of the domestic needs of the family are over.
The growing number of women starting their own businesses or choosing to work (due to desire or out of necessity) has created a US work force that is half women — and most of these women are juggling kids and a job.
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2008, more than 70 percent of women with children under the age 18 were working. But are they happy? Or perhaps a better question: Can working moms be happy?
Few words from “Green-berg”
Together, Green-berg and co-author Barrett S Avigdor, JD, an international lawyer and certified career coach, wrote What Happy Working Mothers Know to show working moms that happiness is more than just a state of being that “other women” experience. Science and sociology have made great strides in understanding what makes people happy and how to actually achieve it.
Green-berg and Avigdor not only lay out the research on the relationship between positive thinking and happiness, (more…)
