Womens health concerns may be slightly different from mens as they have to deal not only with the threat of breast and cervical cancer but also are more likely to suffer from depression.  Scientific research has made some giant steps in helping us understand and deal with the cause of many diseases by eating a healthy diet, exercising, having regular health checks and reducing stress. Here are more suggested ideas  which women can adopt to ensure a long and healthy life.

Heart disease placed third rank as womens killing disease. Theres almost 10 million women had died of heart attack, while 3 million of them has died by stroke attacks. The symptoms almost invisible, most of them not having chest pain at all. Almost 80 percent of them just like having a flu.

High blood pressure, physical inactivity, over weight, high cholesterol, smoking habit and diabetes are the most common risk factor of womens heart disease. This risk factors damages estrogen protection in womens body.

Diabetes
Responsible for around 3 percent of all female deaths in the United States, diabetes is a serious womens health issue, and a condition that affects almost 26 million Americans. Some 12.6 million of those are women aged 20 years or older ” but almost one-quarter of them haven’t yet been diagnosed. Women of color are at highest risk for the condition. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of the disease, but the good news is that it is preventable. To reduce your risk, be sure to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a healthy weight, exercise, and have your fasting blood sugar levels checked regularly to allow for early diagnosis.

Female S-Xual Arousal Disorder (FSAD):
S-X is an important part of one’s life. But often the common problem shared among women is the issue of no S-Xual arousal despite their wanting to have S-X.

Explains Dr Rajan Bhonsle, Hon Prof and HOD of S-Xual Medicines at KEM Hospital and GS Medical College, Mumbai, “It’s a common problem but reasons could lie in any of the four stages of S-X. The four stages broadly are: desire at the brain level, erection or arousal at the body level, penetration and lastly, the orgasm. Problem at any of these stages may lead to what we call FSAD.

Affects the womans overine which is critical to the reproductive system. The risk of developing an overine cancer is likely to stem from having a family history of the illness, hormone therapy, being childless and the old age. The illness is hard to detect as the symptoms are not that prominent. It is easy to ignore the common symptoms such as abdominal swelling, frequent urination, back and leg pains as well as virginal bleeding as signs of other discomforts of womens periods. The detection has to be through a pelvic exam, ultra sounds and blood tests or combination of all.

Another common disease to afflict women is osteoporosis “ hunched backs, back pain, and frail bones. According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, it is a condition that threatens 44 million Americans. The good news is that it is a highly preventable disease, influenced as it is by behavior during childhood, adolescence and early adult years.

What can You do:

  • Controlling your weight, exercising, quitting smoking, and talking to your doctor about your risk and appropriate screening for breast cancer.
  • Keep risk factors in perspective… just because your mother didn’t have breast cancer, it does not mean you are immune to this problem.
  • At the same time, it’s also important to note that some women who have one or more risk factors never get breast cancer.
